MOVING IN THE SPIRIT

On Sundays, we have been covering the principles of the Ten Laws of Unlimited Success from my most recent books God is a Lawyer Too: Ten Laws of Unlimited Success and The Ten Laws of Unlimited Success Workbook.  The Sixth Law, the Law of Speaking Truth to Power, is one of the most undermined – but most important laws of unlimited success that we have, and perhaps it is undermined because it is the easiest law to follow.  All we have to do is say the right thing.

That’s silly, you might say, but when we speak, our words energize the invisible ethers, the divine energy, the pure substance that is all around us, the vibrations of God, the Spirit in which we live and move and have our being – and thus these essential vibrations of consciousness that we call “WORDS” form, create, mold, and shape what we decree.

We are so much more powerful than we think.

Everything that we say is truth spoken to power because our consciousness cannot distinguish between what we say and what we want.

In the winter, I began to say that I am going to do a run in the spring, and at the time, I had just begun to run by walking and running for about a minute; and my knees had just begun to heal – and so by the process of speaking this, I began to run for a longer period of time – sometimes walking for almost 45 minutes and then, just at the very end – running for a quarter of a mile.

But I kept saying that I was going to do this run in the springtime, and so one day, I got on the treadmill to walk for 45 minutes – and at the end, I didn’t stop running at the end of a quarter mile, I kept running until I ran a full mile.  And one morning, I ran 3 miles, and another morning, I ran 5 miles.  I wasn’t really conscious about what I was speaking, but the words that I was using were directed toward what I hoped to manifest.  They really were the truth.

The Truth is that we – made in God’s image and likeness – have the same power that God has to create through our longings and desires.

Our fear is not Truth.  Our anger is not Truth.

Our feeling of lack which hardens into jealousy is not Truth.  The imaginary limitations that we create to impose artificial barriers between ourselves and the completion of our goals is not Truth.

What we perceive as our bank accounts or our wealth or our money is not Truth because it expands and multiplies or decreases based on how we choose to perceive it – or speak it or create through it.

Our jobs are not Truth they are but one aspect of the manifestation of the world that we CHOOSE to speak into existence.

Speaking truth to power is using the divine energy that we were given as a catalyst to mold, shape, summon, command, build, uplift, or create what we WANT to experience in our lives.  It is not just our decree – it is our consciousness.

Our words jettison out of our mouths regardless of how we direct them, regardless of whether we are aware of them, regardless of whether we choose to take responsibility for the form or the shape that they take.

Because of my own words and the words of one of my friends who decided to encourage me to run, I found myself running each week – and our words were so powerful that even when my knee bothered me or I pulled a hamstring, I was able to rest and return to running.  Early on, I wore a knee brace, but my words were so powerful that I took it off after a few times.  I ran without it, and as long as I didn’t go too fast, I managed to do two or three, and some-times even four miles . . . walking as necessary in between, drinking as necessary – water, going as necessary, slowly.

In First Corinthians, Chapter 9, Verses 24-27, Paul asks “Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but ONE receives the prize?    Run in such a way that you may obtain it.   And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things.   Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for imperishable crown.  Therefore I run thus – not with uncertainty.  Thus I fight – not as one who beats the air.   But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.”

I didn’t realize it, but my race really began from the moment that I made a conscientious decision to run – regardless of past injuries, regardless of extra weight, regardless of feeling faint, regardless of being afraid – I had to discipline my body and bring it into subjection so I would not be disqualified.

I knew deep down inside that it wasn’t about running, you see. I gave my Word to me – that I would move beyond the person I was expressing in the flesh into the person I knew I was in the Spirit.

In the Book of John, Chapter 1: Verse 1, it says “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

We say with emphasis, you have my Word.

You have my loyalty.

You have my devotion.

You have my 100% complete alliance.

But the question is – do WE give our Word to ourselves? Do we have a fully realized connection with the energy that we ignite every time we make an utterance?

Are we realizing our divine inheritance?

Genesis  1:1 teaches us that In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. How?  Through the word!  God spoke things into being.

God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.  God said, “Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water, and it was so.

God is said let there be sky, let there be earth, let there be sun and moon and living creatures, and it was so.

In Genesis 2: 19 says “Now the LORD God had formed out of the ground all the beasts of the field and all the birds of the air. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man CALLED each living creature, that was its name.”

When Moses led the Israelites out of bondage, God told Moses what to do.  God told him to tell the people that at twilight you will eat meat, and in the morning, you will be filled with bread.  Moses spoke truth to power – and manna fell from the heavens.

Job says in chapter 22, verse 28 “thou shall decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee.”

Jesus was great at simplifying things, he just said ask and you shall receive.   He was teaching us that the Word is more than text or sound or poetry or rap or hip hop or dialect or language, it is one of our many powers to experience the Spiritual Movement of God Being God as Us.  Our Word is our intention.  Our Word is our Vision Beyond the appearance of now into the Movement of Spirit hurling us from one experience to the next – not by accident but because we speak it.

John teaches us in 1:14, that the Word is so powerful that it became flesh, and dwelt among us full of grace and truth.

Our Word is the Dynamic Energy of our Faith – blessing us to trust in the dynamic power of the universe.

Our Word is the Magnificent Force of Creation – constantly creating itself.

Our Word, our very own Word Beloved, is the Breakthrough that we have been waiting for.

Our Word tells us that we are the agents of change and the agents of love for each other.  If you are not courageous enough to speak your Truth, I will speak it for you.

And that’s what my friend did for me: he said, you will run the race, and in my heart, soul and body, I agreed, and in my agreement decreed that I would do it.

And this is how God works: it was the most beautiful day imaginable for running: the blossoms had formed, the sun was shining, and the sky was blue – and my friends surrounded me.  Marlon ran ahead, reminding us that the Word goes before us, always speaking power before we can even see it take shape.

And Terryl, a friend who was always there in the Spirit, who I had never run with, ran at my side – explaining to me every crack, crevice, corner, and cat hill on my path.  She was the Word who ran with me, reminding me that Absolute Good is always there to bless us.  She helped me maintain my pace, enjoy the run, and realize that I had the power to move in the Spirit.

Mary and Andrian ran nearby, reminding me that the Word always moves in the energy of friends around us, even those who we are not yet aware of.

And Vaughn and Andrea ran behind us, reminding us that the powerful energy of the Word is always at our backs, a Word that trains us in the wee morning hours, a Word that insists that we pray our way through the day, a Word that pushes us pass our greatest point of resistance.

And Marlon came in at the Finish Line to run at my side as I crossed, the Word of Love – that no matter what, I will support you, I will see you through, I will neither fail you nor forsake you.

I praise the Lord because I know the Word runs before me.

I know that heaven and nature ring because the Word runs with me.

I feel the earth receive her King because the Word runs behind me.

I know that the Lord shall renew my strength; that I can mount up with wings like eagles; that I can run and not be weary, that I can walk and not faint – because the Word is me.

And when I run, I forget “those things which are left behind and reach forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call” – not of worry, or fear, or doubt – but of a Good God that always dwells in Christ Jesus – a Jesus who says I am in my Father, and my Father is in me, and I am in You.

AND SO IT IS, SO LET IT BE.
