WE ARE MADE NEW

In 2 Corinthians 5:16-17, Paul says “Even though we have known Christ
according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer.
¹⁷Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation;
old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

When I think of newness, I can’t help but think of John 3,
when Nicodemus sneaks out in the middle of the night and goes to Jesus,
saying I know you must be a teacher from God,
he tells Nicodemus that he must be born again –
unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

Not reborn from the womb but from water and Spirit.

In Matthew 9:17, Jesus says: “they don’t put new wine into old wineskins,
or else the wineskins break, the wine is spilled,
and the wineskins are ruined.
But they put new wine into new wineskins,
and both are preserved.”

In Mark 2:21, Jesus says “No one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth
on an old garment; or else the new piece pulls away from the old,
and the tear is made worse.”

How do we put the new wine that Jesus has anointed us
with into our old thoughts of fear, our old thoughts of worry,
our old thoughts of sickness, our old thoughts of lack?

We release the negativity
and we do as Romans 7:6 says
“we serve in the newness of the Spirit
and not in the oldness of the letter.”

Be blessed by the new wine of the blood of Christ,
realizing physician that you have the power to heal.
And after you have sent healing restorative energy
throughout the world breathe in the calm
and breathe out the joy; breathe in the light
and breathe out the peace;
breathe in the openness
and breathe out the God in you,
and be reborn in a new relationship with yourself and the world.
